A little over a week ago, I heard a friend mention Fitz and the Tantrums. Then last week, I saw a different friend tweet about this same band. I clicked on her dance party link to take a listen, and I loved them! Then on Friday, I had a different friend message me with an offer of her tickets to their show at Simon Estes – and I took her up on it. So glad I did.
Fitz and the Tantrums put on an amazing show to a sold out crowd. Their energy was fantastic! Everywhere you looked, you saw everyone young and old having a great time.
Last night was incredible for multiple reasons. First off, the weather was absolutely gorgeous – it truly could not have been better. I loved the lights during the show – the colors were vivid, and they changed them up quite a bit. The opener AND the headliner were both great – sometimes you want the opener to hurry up to get to the good stuff. This wasn’t really the case last night, as we all enjoyed Max Frost.
Another thing that made last night so awesome was looking around and seeing the crowd. I kept thinking, “how fabulous of an event this is for Des Moines!” A sold out crowd on a Tuesday night… so great! I think Des Moines as a whole is so wonderful – and getting better all the time! There is always something to do: live music to see, a festival in town, farmers markets, trails and parks to enjoy the beautiful scenery, and the Iowa State Fair is almost here!
I love finding new music that makes you feel good and puts a smile on your face – this did that to me. Thank you, Fitz and the Tantrums! Please come back soon! And bring Max Frost with you!
What music makes you happy? What are your favorite things to do in Des Moines? I hope you have a wonderful time wandering!
Have a great week!
